Ever since Apple realized that video accessories for iDevices could bring great profits, Apple changed the video-out functionality of iDevices after rolling out iOS 3 or later; selling authentication chip-laden $49 Universal Docks and overpriced $49 Component AV Cable.

A nice looking combination of audio video dock, remote control, charger, and even equivalent functions that Apple’s “GENUINE” dock and cable provide; cost under $65.00 USD shipped. Yep under $65.00.
And DO NOT forget this is “Apple Approved” that works with iPhone and made for iPod.

Let’s look at TUNEWEAR VisualDock which USBfever.com has offered.

The Visual Dock Station includes an iPod- and iPhone-compatible audio/video TV dock, composite AV cables, S-Video cable, a wall power supply with mini- USB cord, an Infrared remote control, and seven Dock Adapters for use with both iPhone models and recent iPod models—without iPhone 4. Tunewear needs to include iPhone 4 Dock Adapter very soon. The surfaces of both this Dock and the remote control are rubber coated giving them a smooth and unique texture.

Connection is simple and straightforward. And as soon as I put my iPhone 4 in VisualDock, red indicator on the front is turned on. Blue indicator is special 3-D like sound effect, which you can easily turn on and off. Fortunately, with “Apple Approved”, Tunewear VisualDock will not bring up unwelcome “This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone.”

From viewpoint of functionality, VisualDock delivers almost same quality of Apple’s Universal dock and cable for videos in your iPhone and streaming videos from YouTube except lack of component video option though it has an S-Video option instead.

This itty-bitty remote control not only lets you navigate through all iPod menus to select new songs or videos, and the track, volume, and play/pause controls, but also includes a dedicated 3-D sound effect button and all of the other buttons found on Apple’s design. But it does not provide sensitivity and accuracy as good as Apple remote does.

Overall, the VisualDock Station offers iPod and iPhone users an affordable video-to-TV docking, remote control, and charging solution for less than $65.00 USD. It also is proven to work with iPhone 4 loaded with iOS 4.0.1. Should you just want to use VisualDock without the TV out functionality, it can also perform as a simple sync and charging dock for a computer with the included mini-USB cable.

If you plan to connect your iDevices to a TV for affordable cost and do not really care about “Apple” trademark logo, it is a great purchase and Tunewear VisualDock is recommended
When you place an order and you are an iPhone 4 user, make sure that iPhone 4 Dock Adapter will be included, even though it still works just fine without it.

For those who want this review in Korean.
